Tango Fantástico Background Print

Tango Fantástico was founded in September of 2005 to expand the exposure of Argentine Tango, a cultural expressive dance, through performances, workshops and classes.

Argentine Tango is a seductive and intimate dance of unspoken conversation between couples. Captivated by the artistry and precision of the movements, the founder of Tango Fantástico, Sue Flanagan, discovered that Argentine Tango indulged her emotions in a creative, multi-dimensional form, subsequently inspiring her to raise awareness in others.

Business development, marketing and event planning are the responsibility of the founder, Sue Flanagan, an entrepreneur in business with the drive and ambition to achieve.

For information and bookings contact Sue "Eléna" Flanagan at (650) 766-4400 or write to inquiry@TangoFantastico.com.

Sue Flanagan: Managing Director Print

The inspiration to promote Argentine Tango evolved as I watched the impeccable choreography, extraordinary synchronicity, and breathtaking maneuvers created by Professional Argentine Maestros of Tango performed at Nora Dinzelbacher's Tango Week presented in July of 2005.

Hosted by Nora Dinzelbacher, multiple professional dancers from Argentina are invited to participate, teach and perform at a weeklong event in San Francisco. Nora Dinzelbacher is a professional dance instructor, performer, director and choreographer who received a Master of Dance degree at the National School of Dance, Buenos Aires in 1973. After joining the Argentina Folk Ballet she later married the company's Artistic Director, Raul Dinzelbacher.

Influencers and teachers of Sue "Eléna" Flanagan, founder of Tango Fantástico, include:

  • Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne
  • Jorge Torres & Mariela Franganillo
  • Hugo Patyn & Miriam Larici
  • Guillermina Quiroga
  • Nito & Elba Garcia
  • Julio Balmaceda & Corina de la Rosa
  • Oscar Mandagaran & Georgina Vargas

Tango Fantástico is designed to introduce Argentine Tango to a community who might not have the access or opportunity to encounter this unique cultural dance as a matter of daily life. Accomplished dancers convey their passion through motion, balance, line and improvisation, interpreting the music through expressive dance: May the performances and classes offered by Tango Fantástico inspire tentative and bashful observers to explore their secret desires to dance.
